Walter “Bill” Cawley, Newtown Section of Hanover Township, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022, with his family by his side.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Bill was the son of the late Walter and Ceil Saba Cawley. He was a graduate of Meyers High School and attended Wilkes College. Bill served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He owned and operated Bill Cawley's Hanover Auto Sales, Wilkes-Barre. He was a proud 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge 61 and a former Board member of St. Mary's Antiochian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son in law, Edward Frisbie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Palute Cawley: Daughters, Kimberly Frisbie and her sons Kyle and Kevin, Mountaintop, and Karen Cawley and her sons Johnnie and Jacob, Wilkes-Barre. Brother George Cawley and his wife Anita, Forty Fort. Sisters in Laws, Diane Moser and Lois Isopi. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was especially fond of music and cars but nothing compared to his love for his family.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Antiochian Church, 905 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre, with Father George Alberts officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
