William W. Shaver, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Frances Glendenning Shaver of Wilkes-Barre and the late Wilber W. Shaver of Parsons. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Class of 1965 and served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired with 22 years. Bill was an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan; enjoyed listening to country music and bowling and loved spending time with his family. Bill retired from RCN in 2018.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his son, Corey Shaver.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Oliver Shaver; children, William Shaver and his wife, Lynda of York; James Shaver and his wife, Wendi of Luzerne; Richard Shaver and his fiancee, Mary Ventura, of Hanover Township; Samantha Shaver and her fiancé Andrew Meyer of Pasadena, Maryland; brother, Joseph Shafer of Wapwallopen; sister, Elaine Sasser of Wapwallopen; 6 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon, December 27, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a service, with Military Honors at 2:00 pm with Deacon Florian Gyza officiating.
