Walter (Wally) Grohowski passed away Friday, March 18, 2022, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Wally was born November 13,1944 to the late Stanley and Rose Bozenko Grohowski.
Wally was a great guy and he got along with everybody. At the age of 16, he went to work for Pen Fern Oil Company. He loved his bosses and all the people he worked with. We would like to thank Mr. Jay May, Eric May and Heather May for all their kindness, love and support they gave us. Wally always said they were the best people to work for. We also would like to thank Dr. Pernikoff and Dr. Saidman for the good care Wally got. Wally's nurse Dawn Chacko for being so wonderful to him and Wally's brother in law Bill Daley, for coming to all of Wally's Doctor Appointments and tests. Also a Thank you to nephews Billy Daley Jr. and Matthew Daley for calling their Uncle everyday to see how he was doing.
Wally was preceded in death by brother, Stanley Grohowski, sister, Dorothy Burlock and nephew Johnny Grohowski.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Deborah Ann Columbus Grohowski; sisters, Frances Riley and husband Henry of Luzerne; Rose Mushalla and her husband Russ of New Jersey; Lorraine Pelch and her husband, Walter of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 10:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service In. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in the Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Sheridan St. Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Thaddeus Dymkowski officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
