THERESA YUKNAVICH

Theresa Madeline Yuknavich, of Mountain Top, formerly of Newton section of Hanover Twp. died Thursday, May 24, 2019

Born in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Stella Filip Sypniewski and was a graduate of Marymount High School. She was employed as a Medical Technologist for Mercy Hospital and later Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.  She was a member of St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. She enjoyed playing Bingo and would go to local Church Bingos and  bus trips to bingos more distant.  She was an avid reader; enjoyed crocheting and loved Christmas especially making Christmas cookies with her daughter and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M Yuknavich in 2018, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 3, 2019.

She is survived by her daughter Lynn Prebola and her husband, Thomas, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Joshua and Juliette Prebola of Mountain Top; siblings, Michael, Walter and Joseph Sypniewski, all of Wilkes-Barre; Sister-in-law Mary Allen, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at St. Leo/Holy Rosary church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley.  Reverend Vincent Dang will officiate.  Entombment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Friends are invited to join the family on Friday from 10:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
