TERRY HOOK Obituary


Terry Lee “Butch”, “Terry Two Feathers” Hook, 68, of White Haven, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.   


Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Arlene (Bortz) Hook and was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1971. Terry was employed as an independent truck driver for West Motor Freight from 1982 to 1984 and a driver for Morgan Corporation from 1984 to 1990. He was employed for the City of Reading working with the streets  department and was a Centrifuge Operator and pump tender with the Water Authority from 1990 until retirement. 


Terry loved many different types of car racing. He was a race car driver at the Reading Fairground Speedway. He worked with a crew to build up a Ford Torino GT, #70, in the Olympic stocks. Highlighting working on John Kozack’s pit crew. Terry also competed in demolition derbies in Shartlesville, PA. His love of racing moved beyond the track. Terry was a self taught professional photographer owning Hookies Stock Car Memories: Photos & Frames. 


Terry loved music. His favorite genres included folk, blues, rock, and jazz. 
He had many other hobbies. He was an artist, woodworker, and loved tinkering. He could always be found building something or working on engines and small machinery. He could build anything he drafted up as well as fix almost anything he found to be broken. Terry especially enjoyed fishing. He had many favorite fishing spots throughout his life where he shared his time solo or with family and friends. 


Terry is survived by his daughters Tabitha Duerr of Marcy, NY; Trista Fix of Reading, PA; Amber McQuay of Sinking Spring, PA; Jessica Hook, of Peterstown, WV. There are 12 grandchildren: Austin, Reegan, Amiah, Elliana, Neven, Zane, Blake, Lux, Isaac, Auri, Delainey, and Lilliana. Also surviving are 3 siblings, Linda Jones of Wyomissing, PA; Karen Wike of Sinking Spring, PA; Sherelynn Barna of Redford, MI; and 5 nieces & nephews. Terry was a selfless soul who cared deeply about his many friends and family. He enjoyed making others laugh whether it was telling jokes or playing pranks. Terry truly enjoyed helping others in any way possible and had a great listening ear. He will be greatly missed by so many. 


To honor Terry’s wishes there were no open services or viewings. 


Arrangements are under the care of the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. located in White Haven, PA.
