Romaine M. Magyar of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully on 2/28/2025 at Allied Skilled Nursing
Meade Street.
Born 7/15/1928 in Larksville to the late Michael and Mary (Kubish) Magoski. She graduated in 1947 from Larksville High School. She worked in the food and beverage industry most of her life, retiring from Mercy Hospital Wilkes-Barre. Being a woman of faith she was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Romaine always loved being around her family, loved baking, cooking and hosting Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas get togethers. Her family always enjoyed her perogies, sausage stuffing, Easter cheese and Christmas sugar cookies. She also enjoyed watching the Little League World Series.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years Andrew Magyar, brother Michael Magoski and wife Elenor, brother-in-law George Magyar and daughter-in-law Sharon Magyar.
She is survived by sons Andrew Magyar, Norman Magyar (Susan), Grandchildren, Nicole Puz (Tim), Marcus Magyar (Carmela), Dana Ricci (Brian) and great grandchild Brian Ricci. Nieces and Nephews, Debbie Matello (Stephen), Brian Magoski (Nadine), Michael Magoski (Cheryl) and George Magyar Jr. Great nieces and nephews, Megan, Brian and Zackary Magoski, Stephen (Amanda) and Madison Matello.
Andrew and Norman Magyar would like to thank the staff at Allied Personnel Care, Skilled Nursing and Hospice for the care they provided their mother.
As she requested, there will be no calling hours. Funeral service will be held at St Mary’s Byzantine Church and interment at St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery Dallas.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. Wilkes-Barre.
