Robert McDade, Jr. 88, of Newtown Section of Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Robert McDade Sr and Sarah Sweeney McDade and was a graduate of Hanover Township Memorial High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, he was a Grocery Store Manager for Pantry Pride and worked for the teamsters union in the trucking industry. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Wilkes-Barre. Bob loved spending time with family and friends and would help anyone in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles McDade; Mary Anne Butler, Thomas McDade and Sharon Mros.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister Patricia Balcomb of Luzerne and four nephews.
Blessing service will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with Reverend Richard Cirba officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 9:30 am until time of service.
