Patricia Klinges Obituary

Patricia “Pattie” Klinges, 68, loving daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, formerly of Ashley, passed away on Wednesday, July 15th, surrounded by family and friends at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital after an extended illness.

Born on May 4th, 1958, in Ashley, PA, Pattie was the daughter of the late Eugene and Faye Klinges and was a graduate of Bishop Hoban. Pattie spent most of her career at Bon-Ton in many positions. She spent her early working years at Allen Manufacturing alongside her mother. Pattie was a member of Askam United Methodist Church.

Pattie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the Outer Banks, NC for their yearly beach trip for the last 33 years, where she loved watching storms roll in, teaching everyone the best way to bob over the waves, as long as she didn’t have to touch the sand, and sharing stories.

She was known to her nieces and nephews as Aunt Pattie Melt, Polar Pattie, and Aunt Potty Mouth. Aunt Pattie always made the time she spent with her nieces and nephews an amazing memory to keep a secret from their parents, including spoiling Mollie with coffee during Covid. Pattie also enjoyed watching vintage TV shows, Football Sundays, shopping trips with her aunt, nights spent with friends at the Music Box, girls trips to Lancaster, Franklin Mills, monthly dinners with her friends and going everywhere with her sister Donna.

Anyone who knew her best knew she had a wonderful grasp on sarcasm and could offer the best eye rolls.  Pattie did anything she could to help anyone who needed it, especially her siblings, Donna, Diane, and Eugene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister Robin Elizabeth, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Pattie is survived by her siblings, Donna and Mike McNelis of Larksville; Diane Klinges of Kingston; Eugene and Launi Klinges of Swoyersville; nieces and nephews, Matthew, Brian, and Amy McNelis and Mollie Klinges, her Aunts Maureen Hudack, Kathy Klinges and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday July 21st, 2026, at 10:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave, Wilkes Barre with Rev. Audrey Wysowski officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
