Pearl “Chickie” Gower 86, of White Haven, died on Sunday, January 24, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Laurelton, PA she was a graduate of Mifflinburg High School but spent most of her life living in White Haven. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church as well as a life time member of the Girl Scouts.
“Chickie” as she was known to most in the area, was very active in the community and always willing to help and lend a hand. Those lucky enough will also remember her candy apples at Halloween.
In addition to her parents Bruce and Mary Aikey Sheesley, she was preceded by her brothers, Warren and Ralph Sheesley.
Her family include her daughters, Susan Lachette (Jim) of White Haven; Brenda Gehringer (Robert) of White Haven; son, Perry Gower (Jim Begala) of Middletown, NY; Nana to her grandchildren, Jessica, Melina, Breanne, Joshua, Erin, Adria, Dana and Brooke (deceased); 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Many nieces and nephews loved their Aunt Chick and Aunt Pearl as well as so many others who would stop by to say hi on their way to the park, which always included a treat.
Due to the pandemic, there will be a private graveside service at the convenience of the family. Because of Chickie’s love for the White Haven community, in lieu of flowers please take a moment and donate to your favorite local charity in her honor.
