Nancy L. Hassel, of Mountain Top; formerly of White Haven, died in Mountain Top Senior Care, Mountain Top.
Born in White Haven, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Dorothy Bower Feist and was a graduate of White Haven High School. Nancy moved to Williamsport, following her marriage to her beloved husband, Harry, who died in 1994. Later they moved to Connecticut, Arizona and Tennessee, returning to White Haven for retirement. Nancy was a member of White Haven United Methodist Church, and was a gifted musician, organist, choir and bell director; both there and at the Presbyterian church and in many of the churches wherever she and Harry made their home. Nancy was the first to organize and direct the Ecumenical Community Choir in White Haven. She was also a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Presbyterian Association of Musicians and the Terian Club of the Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Barry S. Hassel; and brothers, Charles and Lee Feist.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Edna Radley of Mountain Top, formerly of White Haven, sister-in-law, Jeanne Feist of Taos, New Mexico and nieces Debbie (Carl) Kother, Diane (Bob) Lamson, Cheri Moyer and nephew Richard (Barbara) Moyer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11:00 am at White Haven United Methodist Church with Pastor David Botzer officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Cemetery, White Haven.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nancy's Memory to the American Cancer Society.
