MICHAEL A. SCHAPPERT

Michael A. Schappert, 62, of Ashley, died at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Francis Jude and Regina Schwab Schappert and was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1979. Mike owned and operated MAS Printing and was a member of St. Leo the Great Church, Ashley. He was very active in the community and for many years he coached and won many championships. He coached the Ashley-Newtown Little League from Tee ball up to teeners; the Hanover Area Mini Hawks, C and A Teams and the Biddy Basketball for Hanover. He played volleyball for many leagues during his lifetime and was an avid golfer.

He was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling, especially to Florida. Mike liked the Grateful Dead and was lucky enough to be able to go backstage.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 43 years, Donna M. Stewart Schappert; children, Michael John Schappert of Ashley, Suzanne (Joe) Schappert of Hanover Township, Eric Schappert of Florida, Stephen (Laurie) Schappert of West Wyoming; grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Brayden, Calvin, Wyatt, Ellie and Ava; siblings, Jude (Jean) Schappert of Hanover Township, Mark (Sharon) Schappert of Mountain Top, Jean Marie Schappert of Kulpmont and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private Family Celebration of Life will be held.
