Mary Lou Morton Widman, 93, of Wilkes-Barre, died late Wednesday evening, September 29, 2021, in Allied Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Mildred N. Malkemes Sr. and was a graduate of Meyers High School. Mary Lou worked at RCA for 13 years, prior to retirement and was a member of First Church of Christ, Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Leo Harvey Morton and William Widman; brothers, Frank Jr., Dean, Lee Malkemes; sister, Nancy Schumacher and her granddaughter, Kimberly Seiger.
She is survived by children: Robert (Isabelle) Morton of Herbon, CT; Gary (Shirlee) Morton of Ashley, PA; Lyn Kase of Manheim, PA; Pamela (Charles, Sr.) Seiger of Sugar Notch; Doreen (Atty. Sam Kasper) of Mountain Top; Joanne (Nancy Havard) Missal and Jill Morton of Wilkes-Barre. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Monte Mauro; Brian and Shawn Kase; Jennifer Cunningham; Lisa Mikus; Charles Seiger, Jr.; Kerri Lee DeHart; Ryan, Kevin and Tyler Morton; Lauren and Ronnie Missal, and their father, Ron Missal, Jr. her 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 10:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc., 689 Hazle Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Gary Desanto officiating. Interment will follow in Hanover Green Cemetery.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation Sunday, October 3, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm and Monday morning, from 9:30 until time of service, at the funeral home.
Mary Lou was a wonderful, kind, and unselfish mother that always put her seven children first and always made sure they were safe, in touch with each other, and were okay. She loved being surrounded by her kids and her 30+ grandchildren. Family life was the most important thing. Her home was always grand central for the kids, their friends and all the relatives that would stop by. She made a happy home.
