MARY ALYCE McGROARTY

Mary Alyce McGroarty, of Levittown,Pa. and Ashley, Pa. died on Tuesday afternoon, February 26, 2019 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA after a long illness.

Born in Wilkes Barre, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James and Alice McGroarty.  She graduated Valedictorian from St. Leo’s High School, Ashley, Pa. in 1957 and Misericordia University where she earned her BS Degree in Elementary Education, graduating Magna can Laude in 1961.  She later earned her Masters Degree in Education.  Mary Alyce was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Levittown, Pa. and was a teacher in the Bristol School District for over 40 years.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Dr. Raymond McGroarty, Tacoma, Washington.

She is survived by her son, David Weise of Yardley, Pa.; sister, Maureen Mulrooney and her husband Michael of Lake Winola, Pa. and Wellington, Fl.; her nieces Megan Mulrooney, Kathy Minahan, NJ., Jill Piacitelli, Erin Becker, and nephew, Sean McGroarty, Washington State.

A Memorial Service will be held at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, Pa. on March 30th, 2019 from 12PM-3PM

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley Pa. on July 6, 2019, at 10:00 am with a Visitation from 9:00 am until time of Mass, following with a burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township, Pa.
