MARIETTA GDOVIN Obituary


Marietta A. Gdovin, a resident of Providence Place, Drums, left this life and entered eternal life in heaven on December 24, 2020.


Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Anna Corcoran and was a graduate of St Leo’s High School, Ashley. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Being a woman of great faith, Marietta was a very active member of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, volunteering as a Eucharistic Minister; for the church festival; pinching pierogis and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was retired from the Luzerne County Domestic Relations office.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her loving husband, Willard Gdovin and brother, Thomas Corcoran.


She is survived by her son, David Gdovin; daughters, Mary Frances Licata; Eileen Pulaski and her husband Edward; grandchildren, Michael and Lauren Gdovin; Anthony (Emily), Katie (Stephon) Hanserd, Joey and Lucas Licata; Emily and Eddie Pulaski and two great-granddaughters; Betty Mae and Marietta Jane Licata and sister-in-law Elaine Corcoran.


A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley, at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 2, 2021. 


Memorial contributions, may be made to St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, in her memory.
