LYNDA S. UPDYKE

Lynda S. “Lyn” Updyke, 73, of Hanover Township, passed away at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Born in Nanticoke, Lyn was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret (Nemitz) Gribb. A graduate of Hanover Area High School, she dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as a caregiver.

Lyn had a generous and nurturing spirit, which shone through in everything she did. She had a love for traveling, cooking, and gardening, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether tending to her pets and plants or preparing a warm meal, Lyn’s heart was always focused on the well-being of those around her, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion Bruce Christian.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Melinda) Jones, Shannon (Jerry) Jones; grandchildren, Chlorissa Jones, James Switzer, Jacob Jones, Faith Jones; sister, Dorothy Johnshoy.

Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Church, 1000 S. Main St. Hanover Township. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call from 9:30 am until time of service.
