Kathleen Michaela Coyle Achorn died April 15, 2026 at Pine Run Village Health Center, Doylestown, PA.
Kathy was the youngest daughter of John Bernard and Catherine Caffery Coyle of Ashley, PA. She is survived by her loving husband, Peter Achorn, and loving sister, Mary Ann Moore of Marietta, GA. She was predeceased by sisters Marlene Coyle of Ashley, PA and Jane Francis Coyle Smith of Dallas, PA.
During her childhood, Kathy lived in the family homestead and attended Church of Saint Leo grammar and high school. Always quick with words, she was a debater and loved poetry. After matriculating from Misericordia University in 1965, Kathy became a loyal alumna and supporter of the college. Kathy had a stellar teaching and business career, starting as a teacher at Belvidere High School in New Jersey. After marrying, she and Peter moved to Connecticut where she worked first in the Norwalk Hospital Development office. Then she took a position as Director of the Katherine Gibbs school in Norwalk. Kathy next move was to become a Project Manager with Xerox Learning Systems. In 1994 Kathy established her own consulting business. She developed a two-day training program called “Presentation Strategy and Style.” Her corporate clients ranged from Readers Digest to NYU Stern School of Business and many others.
On vacation, Kathy and Peter traveled to visit friends in the US and in Sweden, France and Great Britton. On a private sailboat they traveled through the canals of France and sailed in the Greek Islands. In the United States they took RV trips to the National Parks out West. Increasingly in winters they spent time in Naples, Florida.
To quote Kathy: “The time to be with loved ones is when we are alive. I have had time and treasured each moment. I’ve been gifted by marriage of true love and happiness; a family united by love, faith and genuine concern for each other. I have personal and professional friends who have remained loyal through every stage of my growth from childhood to death. Now is the time for separation; but the soul lives on and we will meet again. Please pray for me.”
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Kathy asked for prayers and gifts to St. Leo Church (33 Manhattan Street, Ashley, PA 18706), Misericordia University (301 Lake Street, Dallas, PA 18612, or online) and Caring Hospice, 400 Commerce Drive, Ft. Washington, PA 19034)
