Keith P. Casey, 58, of Hanover Township, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, with his family by his side.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 10, 1964, Keith was the son of the late Joseph A. Casey, Sr. and Sandra M. Coleman Casey. He grew up in Ashley and was a 1983 graduate of Hanover Area High School. After his graduation, Keith began his career as a machinist at Daltech in Hanover Township and for the last twenty seven years, worked at Dupont Tool & Machine Company. He was a past member of Local 524, United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. Keith was a life member of St. Leo the Great Parish in Ashley and assisted with various church activities. He was particularly loyal to the annual veterans’ drives and children’s Christmas parties. Keith was an avid follower of estate and yard sales and a frequent browser at antique shops. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and riding his motorcycle and was especially proud to have been a part of his son’s Eagle Scout journey. Above all, Keith loved people, especially his family and many friends and he treasured the times they spent together sharing a coffee or fixing household and automotive problems.
In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph A. Casey Jr., father-in-law, Joseph D. Dobish, and sister-in-law, Donna Shupshinskas Casey.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Christine Dobish Casey; son, Steven Casey, Hanover Township; brothers: Larry Casey and Brian (Lisa) Casey, Ashley; sisters: Kim Berrettini (Donald), Harveys Lake, and Alison Casey (David Durko), Ashley; sister-in law, Christine Falcheck Casey, Dorrance Township, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
The funeral will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, from Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc., 689 Hazle St., Wilkes Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Leo the Great Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. Rev. Vincent Dang, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Rite of Committal and interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday morning from 8:30 am until time of service.
