Joseph M. Gasper, 49, of Warrior Run, passed away on Monday evening, August 30, 2021 at home with family by his side, after a courageous 8 year battle with brain cancer.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Shirley Rhodes Gasper of West Nanticoke and the late Michael Gasper. Joe enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends and was an avid motorcyclist. Prior to illness Joe was employed by Barna Trucking.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Joseph M. Gasper Jr. of Wilkes-Barre; siblings, Jerry (Cindy) Shea of Plymouth; Michael (Hillary) Gasper of Ashley; Brian (Maria) Gasper of Warrior Run; Christopher Gasper of West Nanticoke; twin sister, Lisa (Dale) Kobal of Warrior Run and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Lori Johnson, Norene Turchin, and Bill Smith, for going above and beyond for Joe during his fight. You all are not blood, but you! are Family!
Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 1:00 pm from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Tim Hall from Nebo Baptist Church, Nanticoke, officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday.
