Joseph P. Ewasko, of Pocono Lake, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
Born in Shenandoah on May 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Decker) Ewasko. Joseph was a graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Thaddeus Stevens College, where he proudly played football.
He built a successful career as a mechanical engineer, dedicating many years to his profession. Outside of work, Joseph had a passion for the outdoors and winter sports, especially skiing and riding his snowmobile. He was a talented golfer and found great joy on the course. Joseph also had a deep interest in history, particularly wars, and loved traveling to experience new places. Above all, he was a family-oriented man who cherished time spent with his loved ones.
Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as devoted member of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Pocono Pines.
He is survived by his nieces, Mary Ella Miller and her husband Don, of New Jersey; Kathy Haussler, of Glenside; Jill Ewasko, of Pocono Lake; Sharon Ewasko, of Red Hill; and Lisa Stevenson and her husband Chris, of Cheltenham; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Naysh, and Clement Ewasko.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11 AM at the Annuciation Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery, 29 Cemetery Rd., Shenandoah, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Family Funeral Service, White Haven.
