Joseph Patrick McEvoy, Jr, of Ashley, died at home on Monday, May 10, 2021.
Born in Kingston, he was the son of Joseph and Jean McEvoy, Sr. of Ashley. He graduated from Hanover High School and LCCC, where he received his Associates Degree. Following graduation, he became an electrician for International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Union 163.
He enjoyed hunting; fishing and watching his favorite NFL team, Las Vegas Raiders formerly Oakland Raiders.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Dorothy Rutkowski; his uncles: Bob Carlin and John McEvoy and his aunt, Louise Fitser.
He is survived by his parents: Joseph and Jean McEvoy, Sr. of Hanover Township; sons Jaden and Troy of Ashley, sister Bobbijo (John) Kus of Nanticoke; brother, Marc (Brittany Burrier) McEvoy of Hanover Township; paternal grandparents: Shirley McEvoy of Hanover Township and William McEvoy of Bridgeport, CT; great-great uncle, Dennis Carlin and his beloved nephew and niece, John, Jr. and Elizabeth.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Home, Inc., 689 Hazle Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Reverend Rebecca Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.
