Joseph Clark, 92, of Ashley, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 surrounded by family.
Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Patrick and Ellen Nealon Clarke and was a graduate of Ashley High School. Joe retired from Local 489 IronWorkers Union and enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He was an avid Notre Dame Fan and loved to play golf. He was a member of St. Leo the Great Church and last surviving charter member of the St. John Neumann Division Ancient Order of Hibernians. Joe was also a member of the Knights of Columbus St Leo the Great Council 12089; 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Bishop Hafey Division; a member of St. Conrads Young Men's Society; Grand Marshall of the Wilkes-Barre City St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2013; played in Ashley All Star Softball Team in 1948; was a member of Notre Dame Club and other civic and religious organizations.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Bromfield, Frank Clark, Eleanor Williams, Catherine Harkins and Raymond Clarke.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Irene Kaiser Clark; children, Debbie (Bob) Rushkowski, Michael Clark, Patricia (Mark) Bryski, Beth Clark, Timothy (Carolyn) Clark, Gail (Michael) Evans; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brother James Clarke; sister Mary Bly; sister in law Jane Clarke and many nieces, nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 9:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Leo the Great Church, 33 Manhattan St. Ashley, with Rev. Vincent Dang officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday morning from 9:00 am until time of service.
