JOSEFINA FERMIN Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josefina J. Fermin, 54, of Wilkes-Barre, a beloved mother, sister and friend, who departed this life on September 26, 2025 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. Her warmth, creativity, and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Josefina filled her home — inside and out — with life, joy, and beauty. She had a special gift for making everything feel welcoming, often surrounding herself with lush plants, colorful flowers, and her unmistakable sense of style. She found happiness in the simple pleasures: crafting, decorating, baking, cooking, and always creating a space that reflected her vibrant spirit.

Music filled the air when she was in the kitchen — singing along while preparing delicious meals for loved ones. She delighted in hosting gatherings, where her food, laughter, and love brought everyone together. Shopping was another passion, and she proudly collected purses and shoes that reflected her fun and fashionable flair.

She never lost her sense of playfulness, just like her favorite character, Stitch from the movie Lilo and Stitch and found joy in cartoons, especially Courage the Cowardly Dog. Her loyal dog, also named Courage, rarely left her side — the two shared a bond as inseparable companions. She cherished cozy movie nights with family, always happiest when surrounded by those she loved most.

Above all, she adored spending time with her children and was filled with pride and joy during every visit. She especially treasured her trips to Canada to see her cherished niece and nephews — moments that meant the world to her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Marte; children Henderson and Heydi Marte; grandson Jeremiah Marte; father Jose Fermin, siblings, Josefina Camacho, Saul Fermin, Elvin Fermin; brother-in-law, Pedro Marte, son in law, Jevondrea Keatts McClair; daughter in law, Tawanna Marte and uncle Aquilino Dominquez.
