JOHN A. RUSAK

John “Roos” Rusak, 69, a resident of Ashley, PA, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday morning February 26, 2021.  

He was born April 19, 1951 to Dorothy Chverha and the late Albert Rusak.  

John was a graduate of St. Leo’s High School class of 1969 and a member of St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church.  After retiring from his position as Lead Agent at United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776, John enjoyed eating from a different locale every “Pizza Friday.”  John also loved music, ice cream, road trips, and spending time with his family.  He was admired by all, looked up to by most, and feared by none.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kate Nealon Rusak; children Michael and his wife, Jen, Kerry, Jenny, Matt, and Molly Ashburn and her husband James; grandchildren Kiley and Aislyn Rusak; sister Ann Marie Pawlowski and her husband Edmund, brother Tom Rusak and his fiancée Cori Kennedy; and nieces and nephews.  

As per John’s wishes, there will be no public services and a private blessing service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family.  Please honor him by sharing a pizza with friends and family.   Condolence messages, memories, stories, and photos may be sent to rememberingroos@gmail.com
