JOHN BUTLER Obituary

John Joseph Butler, 83, of Dallas, passed away on Thursday, February 10 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.

 

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jean Sinkavage Butler and served his country proudly, in the United States Army, where he was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and DVW badge. He worked for the railroad and later he became a security guard. John was a huge Philadelphia Eagle fan, loved his favorite pastime of fishing, but mostly he loved spending time with his family.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life,his wife, Shirley Brennan Butler.

 

He is survived by his loving daughters: Cheryl L. Rustay of Wilkes-Barre; Kari Ciravolo and her husband, Gregg of Dallas; four grandsons: Robert Rustay and his wife, Maria; Daniel Rustay and his wife, Cheri; Gregg Ciravolo and his fiancee, Maria; Sam Ciravolo; two great grandchildren: Robert and Shaunna Rustay; sisters: Louise Silla and Rose Bowanko; brother: Joseph Butler and many nieces and nephews.

 

Private Family Funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel, with Interment following.

 

Arrangements under the direction of the Lehman Family Funeral Home, Inc., 689 Hazle Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
