JOANNE FALCK

Joanne Falck of Wilkes Barre passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.

Born Nov. 6, 1948, in Wilkes, Barre, Joanne was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna C. Levandoski. A lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of the former Marymount High School. Joanne continued her education at Wilkes University receiving both a Bachelor and Masters Degree in chemistry.  She was a member of the Wilkes Chemistry Club and Scholarship Fund Organization. Joanne devoted her career to education, serving as an inspiring Chemistry teacher at Bishop Hoban High School and Coughlin and was big into health and fitness, working part time at Curves.

Her favorite sport was skiing, joining the ski club at Coughlin, she went on several trips to Vermont Chaperoning the students. Joanne was also a member of the Wyoming Valley Ski Club. She loved to travel, enjoying the countries of Germany, Sweden, Iceland and Italy.  Joanne was known for her love of animals, taking in stray cats and ending up with five or more at times.  A devoted Penn State football fan, she never missed a game; cheering from the stands and tailgates or watching faithfully on TV.

Joanne's brother, Frank preceded her in death on May 19, 2010.

She will be sadly missed by her Uncle Eddie of Wilkes Barre and cousin Diane Chinshiva of Ashley.

Surviving are several cousins and dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:00 in Our Lady of Hope Church, 40 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre.  Private interment will be at the convenience of the family Monday morning. 

Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, January 10 from 9:30 am until time of Mass.

The family gives Special Thanks to Allied Services, Meade St. Wilkes-Barre for the excellent care and support given to Joanne during her stay.
