JOAN MERRICK

Joan Ann Merrick, 79 of Wilkes-Barre passed away Wednesday October 14, 2020 in hospice at Allied services.

Born in Ashley, daughter of the late Bart Mangan and the late Ann Mangan. She attended school in Ashley and went to Meyers High School. She worked as a teacher's aide in the Wilkes-Barre City and was a member of Saint Boniface and Saint Aloysius Church.

Proceeding her in death, in addition to her parents, are her husband, George Merrick in 1996 and her 2 infant brothers Bart and Jackie.

Surviving are sons Patrick Merrick and his wife, Kimberly, George Merrick and daughter Colleen Merrick. Grandchildren Jonathan, Patrick, Leah, Arianna, Isabella, and great grandson Patrick Jr. Along with brother Joseph Mangan of Wilkes-Barre.

Joanie touched so many people in her life and made a total stranger feel like her best friend. She always put her family and friends before herself and the same for her beloved dogs Bear, Skip and Killian along with numerous strays that showed up at her door. She will be Greatly missed by all especially her children and grandchildren.

Blessing service will be conducted on Monday, October 19, 2020  at 11:00 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with Reverend Richard Cirba officating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.

Friends are invited to join the family from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
