JAMES REH, SR. Obituary

James Reh Sr., of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in his family’s homestead in Stanton Hill, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the family homestead, James was the only one of his siblings to be born there. He was the beloved son of the late John and Mary Reh and a graduate of Saint Nicholas High School in Wilkes-Barre. James proudly served his country as a United States military veteran, a distinction he carried with quiet honor throughout his life. He was also a highly skilled master machinist who dedicated many years of service to Eberhard Faber and later Inter Metro, from which he retired.

A man of remarkable talent and self-reliance, James possessed a deep knowledge of mechanics, electrical work, plumbing, and all things hands-on. There was little he could not fix or build himself. He proudly displayed these skills while building and maintaining his loving wife’s personal beauty salon. Above all else, James cherished time spent with his family. He deeply missed his soulmate in the years following her passing, after she courageously battled cancer and joined her loved ones in Heaven.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Lou, whom he missed dearly; his brother John Reh Jr. and sister-in-law Kay of Clifton, New Jersey; his brother Robert Reh of Lake Carey, Pennsylvania; and his sister Joan Motovidlak, her husband Ray, and her later-life companion Larry of Toms River, New Jersey.

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his loving children: Jimmy Reh Jr., his wife Lee Ann, and grandsons Ayden and Brody; Larry Reh, his wife Jennifer, and grandson Logan; Scott Reh, and his father’s cherished companion Lila (his beloved pet), all of Wilkes-Barre Township; and Megan Wickkiser, her husband Bobby, and granddaughters Kali, Paige, and Taylor of Allentown. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mildred Ostroski of Wilkes-Barre, along with many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes, private services were held for the immediate family.
