James Leo McManus, of Forty Fort, formerly of Newtown section of Hanover Township, died suddenly on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Leo and Rita Herman McManus and was a graduate of Hanover Area High School, class of 1969. Jim was employed as a welder at Air Products & Chemicals Inc until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as with his newly acquired friends at the Kingston Adult Center. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in their activities. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter and was a member of the Newtown Fire Department. He was also an avid Yankees and Steelers fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jason McManus and his wife, Stephanie of Mountain Top, Jaime McManus of Hanover Township, Brooke Crowley and her husband, Keith of Sarasota, FL; grandchildren, Aubrey and Caleb McManus, Michael and Kaiden Gronkowski, Lucas Crowley; siblings, Kathleen Gass, Margaret Evans, Rose McKenzie, Rita Cronin; nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre.
Friends are invited to join the family from 12:00 noon until time of service.
