James A. Hannon, 87, of Ashley, passed away November 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
His beloved wife was the late Margaret Butler Hannon, who passed away in 2008. James and Margaret were blessed to share 51 years of marriage.
Born on June 18, 1934, in Parsons, to the late James Aloysius Hannon and Margaret Dirner Hannon. James was lovingly raised by the late Peter Kucirko and Agnes Hannon Kucirko. Jim was a graduate of Coughlin High School and after graduating, he served honorably in the U. S. Army. James worked as an apprentice and received his barber license. He was later employed at International Color, Parsons, and retired after many years from the Scranton Times, Waverly.
James was a member of St. Leo the Great Parish , Ashley. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 12089, St. Leo’s and a Fourth Degree Knight. Family always came first and was the greatest joy in his life. He cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren. It seemed he never missed a day of work teaching a great work ethic to his family.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Margaret, James is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Marissa Mihal and sister Patricia Anne Smith.
James is survived by daughters, Marijo (Joseph) Blain, Colleen (Walter) Wrazien, Judith (Paul) Narsavage, Margaret (James) Mihal; sons James (Karen) Hannon, Patrick (Patricia) Hannon; grandchildren Ryan (Bethany) Blain, Kevin(Christine) Blain, Erin (Matthew) Nealon, Lindsey (Christopher) Peterson, Stacey (Aaron) Rosenfeld, Kerrey Wrazien, Kyle (Jessica) Narsavage, Sean Narsavage, Dayna Narsavage, James Mihal, Mary Kate, Meighan, Bethany, Bridget, Shawna and Maura Hannon; great grandchildren Macey, Owen, Fiona, Gavin, Nora, Tara, Natalie, Abigail, Sydney, Eli, Lilly, Jacob; siblings Mary Elaine Carey, W. Ronald Kucirko, P. Michael Kucirko. He will also be missed by many relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 10:00 am from St. Leo the Great Parish, 33 Manahattan Street, Ashley, with Reverend Vincent Dang officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 9:00 am until time of Mass at the church.
