Gerald P. Mrozinski, 88, of Moosic, formerly of Mountain Top, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, in Regional Hospital, Scranton.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary Konieczny Mrozinski. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School and earned his bachelor's degree from King's College. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal. Gerald worked as a human resources manager his whole career and retired from Paper Magic Group. He enjoyed fly fishing, and spending time with his family, especially on family vacations. He was a former member of St. Andrew Parish, Wilkes-Barre, and was a member of St. Jude's Parish, Mountain Top. He was also a member of the Brookside Sportsmen’s Club.
In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy C. Meighan Mrozinski, in 2011, and by son, Gerald Mrozinski Jr., in 1987.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter-in-law, Regina (Terry) Kloeker, sons, Mark (Levonne) Mrozinski, and Gary (Kathleen) Mrozinski; grandchildren, Gerald Mrozinski III, Theresa Gawlas, Joshua Kloeker, Jeffrey Kloeker, Benjamin Mrozinski, Emma Mrozinski, and Gary Mrozinski Jr.; sister, Ruth Stanski; brother, Arnold (Ute) Mrozinski; and sister-in-law Marjorie Flannery.
Gerald was a past member of the Board of Trustees of Luzerne County Community College and served as its chair from 1980 to 1985.
Gerald lived 28 years with ALS and was an active supporter and volunteer for the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter. As a result of his volunteer work on behalf of the ALS Association, he raised over one million dollars to support people living with ALS.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Thursday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Lehman Funeral Home (689 Hazle St, Wilkes-Barre), and on Friday at 11:30am at Saint Jude’s Church (420 S. Mountain Blvd, Mountain Top). A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Gerald to the ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter.
