George P. Naugle III, 78, of Wilkes-Barre, died on Sunday evening, September 17, 2023 in Lakewood Nursing Home, Nanticoke.
Born October 29, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late George P. Naugle Jr. and Doris Lavelle Naugle; was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1966 and served his country proudly in the United States Army then retiring from the United States Air Force with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was the recipient of the AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Good Conduct Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon,AF Training Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He enjoyed spending time with family, going to air and car shows, fishing and was an Air Force junkie. He also enjoyed a trip to the shooting range and playing cards with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jason Naugle and his wife Dorisue of Nanticoke, Shannon Naugle of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Jason, Gillian, Graciana, Jagger and Levi Naugle and great grandson Jacob Missal.
Private family services will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
