Genevieve "Genie" Lehman, 90, of Hanover Township, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025 with family by her side, at her son's home in Mountain Top.
Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Theodore (Thaddeus) and Victoria Frankevicz Grodzicki and was a graduate of Ashley High School, Class of 1951, where she played in the band. Genie worked at Boscov's Department Store for over 20 years and enjoyed spending time with family, baking, cooking, gardening and traveling. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre and volunteered at the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and Mercy Hospital, with her husband for over 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert F. Lehman in 2016.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Lehman of Peoria, AZ, Michael (Linda) Lehman of Duryea, David (Marian) Lehman of Mountain Top, Kathleen "Katie" (Arden) Keller of Aston, PA; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister Elizabeth "Betty" Tarutis of Barnesville, PA; step-brother Robert Grodzicki of Littiz, PA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, corner of Barney and Division St., Wilkes-Barre.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4 to 6 pm and Friday morning from 11:00 am until time of service.
