Francis “Frank” Gallagher, 70, of Ashley, passed away in Guardian Elder Care, Nanticoke.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late James and Monica Norton Gallagher and was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1969. He had various work throughout his life including working at PPL and United Penn Bank. He later in his life owned and operated “Gallagher's Bar,” a great meeting place by his friends and neighbors. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and associated with him. Frank was the Athletic Director at the local Wilkes-Barre CYC; recreational leader on playgrounds and recreation centers and for the Wilkes-Barre recreation board.
In Frank's passing he will always be remembered for his friendly personality. He had a belly laugh, that had you laughing with him. Frank enjoyed his sports, particularly Notre Dame Football-The Biggest Love of His Life; Music being second to that. He also enjoyed good food and Sandy his Cat.
He is survived by two brothers, James and Martin, nieces and nephews and was preceded by his brother Edward, in addition to his parents.
Memorial visitation will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp., at the convenience of the family.
