Elizabeth “Tessie” Ann Dudkiewicz, 85, of Sugar Notch, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on October 25, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Esser Longfoot. Tessie was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial Junior/Senior High School and a devoted member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Tessie was the heart and matriarch of her family — a woman known for her honesty, strong will, and vibrant spirit. She told it like it was, and those who knew her appreciated her unfiltered wisdom. Cooking was one of her greatest joys, and her love of reading fueled her sharp mind throughout her life. She was, in every sense of the word, a force — unwavering, grounded, and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Dudkiewicz, and her siblings Joseph “Joe” Longfoot, Dorothy Jane “Janie” Longfoot, Robert “Bobby” Longfoot, Edward “Eddy” Longfoot.
Tessie is survived by her loving daughters, Linda and Tara Dudkiewicz, both of Sugar Notch; grandchildren Samantha (Zach) Shuma Teris, and Shelby Shuma; siblings Joan (George) Michalow, Rita (Eric) Jacobs, and Paul (Melissa Wysnewski) Longfoot; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM at Lehman Family Funeral Service, 689 Hazle Street, Wilkes-Barre with Pastor David Kropf officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be sent to charity of donor's choice.
