ELIZABETH YAKAVONIS

Elizabeth Yakavonis, 88, of Hanover Township, died Saturday morning, January 2, 2021, in River Street Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late James and Julia Aregood Bell and was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1950. She was employed as a bookkeeper prior to retirement and loved to volunteer at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, where she made many friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hugh Bell and George Comerosky.

She is survived by her loving son, Ray Yakavonis and his wife, Cheryl of East Stroudsburg; sister, with whom she was very close, Marcia Callahan of Toms River, NJ; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service.
