EDWARD BROGAN Obituary

Edward K Brogan, of Sugar Notch passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.

 

Born in Sugar Notch, he was the son of the late James A. and Regina Shea Brogan. He was a graduate of St. Leo's High School in Ashley. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps and was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Award. He later worked at the V.A. Nursing Home, from which he retired.

 

Edward was very active in the community. He was a member of the Christian Lodge # 84, FOP, AOH, Askam Lodge #899 l.O.O.F and Valley Vets. He was also a life time member of the Twin Boro Lions Club, Sugar Notch Fire Department, Sugar Notch Conservation Club, Six County Fireman's Association, State Constable Association, Wildlife Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever Association, Ducks Unlimited, Eagles Club #834 of Nanticoke, Knights of Columbus and Sugar Notch American Legion, of which he was the Commander.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James A. Brogan Jr.; Rev. Hugh Brogan and sister, Grayce Delea.

 

He is survived by brother, Jerry Brogan; sisters, Regina Fillman of Sugar Notch; Patricia Sincavage of South Plainfield, New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 10:00 am in Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch with Reverend Joseph Kakreka officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
