Dorothy “Tooty” Adams
1927 to 2026
The angels came for our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt on the evening of April 29. The family was blessed with this beautiful, loving, kind, strong woman for almost 99 years of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone that knew her.
She was well known in White Haven and lived on the same street for 89 years until she moved to the Laurels Senior Living Facility, where she resided until her death.
She loved to dance and play bingo, and she had a kind word for everyone. She always gave of herself and never asked for anything in return. She was a waitress for most of her life at many local restaurants in the area. Her final working days were at the Galleria in Split Rock, and she worked until she was 76 years old.
She was the daughter of Mary and Dewey Feist. Sister Jean Wildrick, brothers Duke Feist and George Feist, all deceased. Her husband, Raymond “Grassy” Adams, passed on December 10, 2011.
She is survived by her three children: Fran and her husband Paul Imbriaco of Hazle Township; Marlene and her husband Ed Zmiejko of White Haven; and Ray Adams and his wife Barb of Long Pond.
Also surviving are her five loving grandchildren: Amy and her husband Tom Figas of Weatherly; Lori and her husband Clarence Wolfe of Conyngham; Lisa and her husband Bobby Verbosh of Coopersburg; Kristine Adams and Holly Adams of Harrisburg.
And the loves of her life, her nine great-grandchildren—what a great honor it was for them to know her and love her: Alexa Figas, Luke Figas, Tyler Wolfe, Bryce Wolfe, Brayden Wolfe, Quinn Adams, Olivia Verbosh, Mila Verbosh, and Aurora Roddy.
She also has many nieces and nephews.
She was of the Catholic faith and loved the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at her lifelong church, St. Patrick’s in White Haven, on Friday, May 8. The public may pay their respects at the church from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass at 10:30. The burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
We would like to thank Lynette and the entire staff at the Laurels for their care, compassion, and love while she was a resident.
And a heartfelt thanks to Maylath Hospice Care—Shannon and Christina, her nurses; Virgen, her aide; and Gina, the social worker. Their unwavering love, compassion, and care during the last year truly extended her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Maylath Hospice Care, P.O. Box 103, Sybertsville, PA 18251.
