Dwayne P. Rockey, Sr. of Sugar Notch, died on Monday, June 26, 2023 at home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he served his country proudly in the United States Army and was the recipient of the Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious unit award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, United National Medal, Expert Badge Hand Grenade, Marksman BadgeM-16 Rifle and the Air Assault Badge. He was employed as a welder;enjoyed riding his motorcycle and watching the Cincinnati Bengals and loved his tattoos.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather Joseph Horan.
Dwayne is survived by his children, Alexis (Morgan Girard) Rockey of Fort Bliss, TX; Dwayne Rockey Jr. of White Haven; Colin Lineburg of Wilkes-Barre; Bjorn Rockey of Sugar Notch; Kian Rockey of Sugar Notch; mother, Virginia Williams Rockey; siblings, Michele Rockey (Mark) of Wilkes-Barre; Christopher Rockey of Hanover Township, nieces, nephews and companion, Angelica Allen.
Funeral service will be conducted, with military honors, on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until time of service.
