DENISE YOURREN RUDDY

Denise Yourren Ruddy, 75, originally of Ashley, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024 in Concord, North Carolina.
Born on January 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late James and Adeline Yourren. Denise graduated from St. Leo’s High School and attended beauty school in Wilkes-Barre, PA and earned her cosmetology license. She was a professional hairdresser for 25 years, bringing the gift of beauty to many women in the community. Denise moved to North Carolina in the early nineties. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and watching Notre Dame football.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard, sister, Donna, and oldest son, Rick.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Eric and his wife, Carrie of Concord, NC; daughter, Lori of New Bern, NC; grandchildren Emily, Adeline, Ella and Callan; and brother Jamie and his wife Missy of Ashley, PA and their children and grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 from 4-6 p.m. at the Lehman Family Funeral Service, 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre and Friday morning, Oct. 25, 2024 from 9:00 am until 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Leo’s Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley, with Father Dang officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.  A post funeral gathering will be held at the Wyoming Valley Country Club, Hanover Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Toys for Tots, an organization that Denise supported throughout her life.
