DAVID SPADELL Obituary

David Allen Spadell, 51, November 11, 2021, entered eternal life after a courageous two-and-a-half-yearbattle with lung  cancer, surrounded by his loving and devoted wife Charlotte and family at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.

Born March 13,1970 in Hazleton at St Joseph Hospital, Dave grew up in White Haven and graduated from Crestwood High School, Class of 1988. He was a volunteer for the White Haven Fire Department and Ambulance Department. Dave was also an EMT for Medical transport in Hazleton, while in the Army
reserve, prior to his enlisting in the US Army. He served in the US Army for nearly 30 years, serving many of those deployed and overseas, graduating from Warrant Officer School and retiring in 2011 as a CW4.

After retiring from the military, Dave transitioned his Fleet Maintenance skills into the civilian sector and worked for Waste Management, Republic, and Mailhot prior to moving to North Carolina. At the time of his passing, he was employed by the incredibly loyal Schroeder Industries.

Dave was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies. He loved hosting the July 4th weekend gathering, bringing his family and friends together each year, along with the famous fireworks display he and his father-in-law, Tim, would spend hours together preparing. The Thanksgiving/Christmas season was his favorite time of year because of the love and kindness people show and share with one another. The magic he felt as a child was important to carry on to his young sons. His wish was that people would carry that feeling with them all year long.

Preceded in death by his parents Robert L (2020) and Jane L (2014) Spadell, Grandmother Mary (2002) Ladner.

Along with his wife Char, he is survived by his children, David Spadell Jr, Angelina Spadell, Sebastian Spadell and Vincent Spadell, Benjamin Rauschkolb, Dominic Rauschkolb and Benedict Rauschkolb. Sister Jane (Kevin) Zirkelbach, Brother Robert “Boob” (Rhonda) Spadell, Sister Susan (Larry) Pecora, In-laws Tim & Diane Scherr, brother-in-law Adam (Toni) Scherr, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. Dave also leaves behind the community of friends, that were more like family, in the community where he resided the past 5 years in Sanford NC.

A celebration of life will be held in his honor Saturday December 11, 2021, at Sitko’s Farmhouse, White Haven from 1 to 4 pm.
