Connie L. Carter, 73, of White Haven, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026.
Born on November 5, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Emma Clymer Fritzinger. Connie was a graduate of Crestwood High School and spent many dedicated years working as a valued aide at the White Haven Center, where her compassion and tireless work ethic left a lasting impression on both colleagues and those in her care.
Connie was an active and faithful member of White Haven Presbyterian Church, where she found strength in her faith and joy in fellowship. Known affectionately as “small but mighty,” Connie’s presence was larger than life. She was blunt, honest, and fiercely loving; a woman whose words were straightforward but whose heart was immeasurably kind.
She had a deep love for animals and was known throughout the neighborhood for caring for her own beloved pets as well as any stray in need. From birds and raccoons to chipmunks and cats, Connie made sure no creature went hungry. Her natural gift with animals was just one reflection of her nurturing spirit. She found happiness in caring for others, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Creativity was another of Connie’s many gifts. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, and collecting beautiful blown glass pieces, especially unique figures that brought her joy. She took great pride in adding to her collection, often with pieces lovingly chosen by family members as gifts. Connie also created many handmade crafts of her own and enjoyed painting ceramics, sharing her thoughtful and artistic creations with friends and family. Her keepsakes will remain treasured reminders of her creativity and love.
Connie also made history in her community as the first active female firefighter at the White Haven Fire Department, paving the way for others with her strength, courage, and determination. Her service to the community was a source of great pride.
She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bodie” Carter; her daughter, Tiffany Carter; her son, Richard Carter; her cherished granddaughter, Ivy Raine Clark; and her sister, Linda Madigan, all of White Haven. She is also survived by her nephew, Kyle Madigan; great-niece, Caryn Madigan; extended family; dear friends; and her many loving pets.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her infant child and her beloved grandson, Connor L. Clark.
Connie’s legacy is one of strength, service, honesty, and unwavering love; for her family, her community, and every animal she encountered. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at a future date, location and time to be announced.
