At age 15, Claudine met her future husband, Tom Jarick, also 15. He had been sent from Freeland, PA, to live with his Aunt Sue (Kuchar) Milot in CA during WWII. At the end of the war in 1945, Tom moved back to Philadelphia and lived with his parents, George & Alice (Kuchar) Jarick.
In 1947, Claudine moved to Philadelphia, PA, and married Tom. After 2 years, they bought property in Bucks County, PA, and Tom built their first home, where they had four children. They then had a house built & moved to the Phoenixville/Kimberton, PA, area, their only house Tom did not build.
In 1981 Tom retired. A few years before retirement they bought acreage in Dennison Township, White Haven. On weekends, Tom started building their last home. Claudine stayed in Phoenixville for a while until the Dennison Township house was habitable. He and Claudine lived in their Dennison Township home until their deaths.
Claudine was a long-time member of the White Haven St. Patrick’s Church, where she served as a lector for many years. She was also a talented artist of most mediums and an eclectic reader.
She is survived by her sister, Peggy Wright, her nephew, and many cousins in CA. Her four children are Tom Jarick and partner Barbara Hay of Halifax NJ; Lynne Jarick; Jim Jarick and wife Donna, all of White Haven; and Marydee Mock and partner Frank Gioffre Sr. of White Haven, PA & Clinton, ME.
