Charles Allen Rauch, 86, of Pocono Lake, PA, died July 9, 2021, following a car accident in Blakeslee, PA.
Born in Marlborough Township, PA, Charles was a son of the late Gordon and Gladys Bardman Rauch. After attending college, he served proudly in the US Air Force. During his professional years, he worked as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Microelectronics field.
Charles was a talented oil painter and woodworker, and was a member of the Pocono Mountains Arts Council. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting and hiking. A lifelong athlete, he played baseball as a young man, ran cross country in college and played tennis late into his seventies. He and his wife traveled extensively in the United States and Europe, making new friends along the way. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Blakeslee, PA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Harry Rauch.
Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Miller Rauch, daughter Rebecca R. (Russell) Warde of Sharon, MA, son David C. (Bonnie) Rauch of Granby, CO, brother Bruce G. (Roberta) Rauch of St Petersburg, FL, sister Barbara Murphy of Mohnton, PA, and grandchildren Thalia and Thomas.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00am at Faith Lutheran Church, 550 PA Rte 940, Blakeslee, PA 18610 with a visitation hour at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Dr. Peter Kuritz , interim pastor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charles’ honor may be sent to Faith Lutheran Church in Blakeslee, PA.
