CAROL MEYERS Obituary

Carol L. (Lynn) Meyers, 76, of Luzerne (and formerly, Wilkes-Barre) Pennsylvania, passed away on February 26, 2021. She left this world for her next adventure, surrounded by her family, and taking their never-ending love and devotion with her.

Carol was born on July 1st, 1944 to the late Patrick and Mabel (Shafer) Lynn. She was a graduate of GAR High School Class of 1962.  She worked various jobs, as a secretary, cigar maker, and others before continuing her education through Allied Medical Careers, and becoming a Certified Nurses Aide and Medical Assistant, for the second half of her life.  Working as a Certified Nurses Assistant gave her purpose. She felt called to a life of service to others, and this calling fulfilled her need to nurture. She took great pride in her career choice, never giving less than 200%, and joyously celebrated every certification.

Carol will forever be remembered as the glue that bound her family together, hosting many family events. She was an avid Steelers fan. In her home, it was black and gold, or nothing! She carried her family through sadness and troubles with her green eyes sparkling, sharing her comforting baked goods, and always telling her kids that they were stronger than they think.

Her laughter, and wicked sense of humor, left her family's ears ringing, and cheeks blushing. These stories and jokes will be shared throughout the years, in her honor.

Carol's greatest wish was to see her children stay close, and to always put family first. This includes hosting roast beef Sundays, sipping Manischewitz grape wine, and listening to the Bee Gees, Manilow, Jersey Boys, and the like. She was, on occasion, even willing to entertain her children's preferred music, throwing in the occasional Ozzy, Floyd, and Manson -  while not-so-secretly jamming along.

She is predeceased by her husband, James Meyers, and step-son Gary Havrilla, brothers Robert, William (Billy), Gene (Jack), and Harrold Lynn, and a sister, Alice Blackwedel.

Carol is survived by her companion John Havrilla of 30 years, her 3 children, James Meyers (Gwen), Michelle Meyers Daubert (Carl),  and Leslie Meyers Raimondi (Erick),  her step-son John Havrilla, her 9 grandchildren: Michaelene, Katrina, Tyler, Bradley and James Meyers, Ashlie and Carl Daubert, and Erick and Lydia Raimondi, as well as 7 great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by a sister Patricia Walsh, and numerous nieces and nephews.
