BARBARA KAMINSKI Obituary

Barbara Jane Kaminski, of Lyndwood section of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 22, 2020 surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Mt. Pocono, she was the daughter of the late Seldon Gangaware and Joan Eisenhauer and step daughter of the late Marion Gangaware.  She was a graduate of Berwick High School. She loved to spend her time making sure the family home felt cozy and inviting, always decorating and most often cooking or baking. Her love of gardening and appreciation for the outdoors was ever present; “Doesn’t the Earth smell good?” she would ask.

She was a warm, kindhearted, friendly person who loved her family with all her heart and most of all, the time spent with her grandchildren. They gave her the will to live and fight another day.  She loved going on new and old adventures with her husband. He was her Captain and she will forever be his Sweet Heart. They had the kind of relationship most of us only dream of.

Being a woman devoted to her faith, she was an active member of the Firwood United Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre. She participated in the annual church festival, Vacation Bible School, and assisted in the pastie assembly line. She was employed as a certified nursing assistant at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for over 25 years, loved people, and was a natural caregiver.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, James Kaminski; daughters, Erica Walker and her husband, Christopher of Kingston and their daughter Delaney; Andrea Viti and her husband, Timothy of Hanover Green section of Hanover Township and their children Bryce and Evelyn; step sons, James and Scott Kaminski; brothers, Craig Gangaware; Lee Gangaware, Sister Marjorie Fose, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am,on Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Firwood United Methodist Church, 399 Old River Road, Wilkes-Barre with Pastor Craig Gommer officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Any attending the funeral or visitation are required to wear masks per CDC Guidelines.

Arrangements by Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. Wilkes-Barre.

One of her favorite proverbs was from proverbs 3:5-7 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
