Anna Rose Berry Thomas, 91, formerly of Fall St., Ashley, died Tuesday afternoon, April 17, 2018, at Little Flower Manor, with her family by her side.
She was born, August 30, 1926, daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Murphy Berry. She was a graduate of St. Leo's High School, Academy School of Beauticians and was a member of St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish, Ashley.
Prior to her retirement, Anna Rose owned and operated Anna Rose's Beauty Salon from 1958 to 1988 at the Family Homestead. No one ever left Anna Roses' without a good laugh and a smile on their face.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Raymond Thomas; sister Jean Berry Gaughan; brothers, Leo, Edward, Andrew and Thomas "Unks" Berry.
Surviving are a niece, Maureen Gaughan Leyh and her husband, Fred, Schenectady, NY; nephews, Harold J. (Harry) Gaughan Jr. and his wife, Kris, Ashley and Thomas P. (Rinny) Gaughan and his wife, Patricia, Ashley; nieces Elizabeth Berry Strada, Perth Amboy, NJ and Trisha Berry Russo, Colonia, NJ.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 21, 2018, from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. Reverend Vincent Dang will officiate.
Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may visit from 9:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
