ALFONSO VITI Obituary

Alfonso J. Viti, 84, a life resident of Ashley, died on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Tulio and Genevieve Norczyk Viti. He attended Sugar Notch High School, where he played basketball and served his country proudly in the Army National Reserves. Alfonso was a supervisor for Luzerne County Road and Bridge Department, prior to retirement. He would look forward to waking up every morning, then going to Turkey Hill for his daily coffee and lottery tickets. He loved visiting his neighbors, catching up on the neighborhood news; but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, all he adored. Alfonso was a member of St. Leo's/ Holy Rosary Church in Ashley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Johnny and brother, Allen Viti.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Vincent) Harris of Harvey's Lake; sister, Mary Josefowicz of Sugar Notch and brother, Paul (Tina) Viti of Sugar Notch. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Brandon, Devon and Bethany Harris; Brianaa and Johnnie Viti; great grandchildren: Genevieve, Ayrton, Kayden, David and Julian.

Blessing service will be conducted on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery Chapel, S. Main Street, Hanover Township with Reverend Vincent Dang officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
