Albert Adelson, of Hanover Township, passed away on December 24, 2025. He was born in Kingston on September 10, 1952, and was the son of the late Jonas and Margaret Adelson.
Albert was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School; proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was employed in the metal fabrication industry. On his down time, you could find Al at the Anthracite Newsstand enjoying coffee, getting his daily numbers, and scratching lottery tickets. He had a love for cooking, music, and an endless collection of tie-dye shirts. Al enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing and especially hiking at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary which was a yearly tradition for the past 40 years. Above all, he cherished spending time with family, friends, and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his son, James Adelson and brother Timothy Adelson.
He is survived by his daughter, Korey Stull of Plymouth; his companion, Selina McHugh of Hanover Township; his brother, Sandy Adelson; and his stepdaughters, Alessa McHugh of Manhattan and Selina McHugh of Plains.
Private family services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc.
