Michael H. Yozviak, Jr. “Chick”, 80, of Askam section of Hanover Township, died June 12, 2018, in Birchwood Rehabilitation and Nursing, Nanticoke with his loving wife by his side.
Born in Lee Park section of Hanover Township, he was the son of the late Michael H. and Marie C. McGroarty and was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1955. Chick served his country for 8 years in the National Guard and owned and operated Chick's Garage. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. He would often be found camping in Canada a favorite fishing destination for Mike.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by sister, Marie Borton, brother, Donald Yozviak and infant brother, James.
Chick is survived by his loving wife, Elaine M. Kucharski Yozviak, with whom they would have celebrated 57 years of marriage, June 24; son, James Yozviak and his wife, Lori, Swoyersville; four grandchildren, Nicole Halvorsen and her husband, Bill, CO; James, Kevin and Mitchell Yozviak, Swoyersville; two great grandchildren, Henry and Arlo Halvorsen, CO; sister, Janice Borton, Dallas, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 9:30 am from the Lehman Family Funeral Service, Inc. 689 Hazle Ave. Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, Sugar Notch. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, July 8, 2018, and on Monday, July 9 from 9:00 am until time of service.
