Mary “Marmo” Keating sadly passed away Monday evening, June 18, 2018 in Celtic Care In-Patient Unit, Wilkes-Barre.
Marmo was born in Ashley and was the daughter of the late William and Helen (Raber) Keating. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, William, John and Raymond Keating.
She was a graduate of Hanover High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. After graduation she began a long career with Bell Telephone and after many years of dedication retired as a supervisor in 1989.
She was a loving aunt who devoted her life to her family and friends. Her love of children was a special gift and her happiness for others was genuine. She always had a great sense of knowing just how to manage everything along with her wonderful intuition and insight into life. Truly one-of-a-kind aunt and friend who made all our lives richer because she was and will always be part of them.
Marmo was a member of the Blue-Chip Ladies Golf League for many years. She accomplished (2) amazing holes in one. She also enjoyed and loved her Bridge Club and her annual trips to the Jersey Shore with loving life-long friends, the Dolls on Dunes. She was an avid reader and loved to socialize. She was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and Notre Dame, as we all know.
Marmo is survived by her brother Gerald Keating, Hanover Township, loving nieces, nephews and grand nieces, nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 at St Leo’s Church, 33 Manhattan Street, Ashley, with Reverend Vincent Dang officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 am until time of Mass.
